Use it for 30 days. If it isn't for you, send it back used for a full refund, and we pay the return label. From day 31 to day 90, send it back for half the price. Two-year replacement warranty, claimed by a 20-second video.

Most people who see something see it between week six and week ten; some never do. Plan on twelve weeks before you judge it.

Free tracked shipping to US addresses. Ships in 1 to 3 business days, then arrives in 5 to 8 business days.

Is it worth it? Here is everything we know, and the one thing we don't.

The Kept Session: a mask built for the session you keep, a full refund for 30 days, and half back until day 90.

  • Four modes on one controller: Calm 525 nm, Brighten 590 nm, Rejuvenate 630 to 660 nm, Tighten 630 to 660 nm plus 850 nm.
  • About 290 g, flexible and silicone-style, with an open eye window. Close your eyes or use shields if the light bothers you.
  • A 5, 10 or 15 minute timer you set once. 328 LEDs, a count, not a power rating.

Before you buy, read what it is not for.

Modest and slow. We say it first.

Smile lines show up all of a sudden. The basics stop moving anything. Needles are not on the list. Something gradual and at home is.

So does light on skin do anything? Here is what the category's research shows, with the limits left in.

  • Sham-controlled trials of red and near-infrared light have measured modest change in the look of fine lines and in skin elasticity, with regular use.
  • The evidence for fine lines is graded weaker than the evidence for breakouts. Many studies are small, and many were paid for by the companies that sell the devices.
  • One review put it plainly: the selling has run ahead of the evidence.
  • These studies tested other devices at known irradiance, and the Clinaray mask has not been tested.

"It's not going to be anyone's quick fix." (Harvard Health)

"Keep in mind that it takes time to see the results and not everyone sees them." (American Academy of Dermatology)

Neither has reviewed this mask.

The only timeline we print: Most people who see something see it between week six and week ten; some never do. Plan on twelve weeks before you judge it.

If that sounds slow, it is. We would rather say so before you buy than after.

Red light on. Close your eyes or use shields if the light bothers you.

The light isn't why people quit these masks. The session is.

Why masks end up in a drawer.

"I only find good results online and I feel like I'm doing something wrong." (A Reddit user, r/30PlusSkinCare)

You are probably not doing anything wrong. The light is slow, and the category is sold as if it were fast. So it breaks in four places.

  1. The window closes first. Most return windows are 30 days, and some take back only a sealed box. That is not even enough time to see anything.
  2. The session is built to be endured. Lie back, eyes covered, wait for it to be over. So it gets skipped.
  3. The feed promises four weeks. So by week three, it feels like it isn't working.
  4. The one number worth comparing is often not printed. You get a count of lights, not a measure of light.

Nobody judges a gym membership after a month. The problem is not the light, and it is not you. It is the drop-off.

Our limit: the link between an uncomfortable session and quitting comes from what buyers report, not from a study.

Upright, eyes open, at the mirror. Close your eyes or use shields if the light bothers you.

What it takes.

So the right mask is not the one with the most lights. It is the one you keep wearing, and the one you can still send back when you judge it on your own face. That takes two things at once.

  • A session you keep: eyes open, light, flexible, a timer you set once. Close your eyes or use shields if the light bothers you.
  • Terms that still give something back at week ten: a full refund for 30 days on a mask you have used, and half back until day 90.

We chose the mask for the first and wrote the terms for the second: send it back used, not sealed, and get half back until day 90.

A light therapy mask you can read with.

The eye window stays open, so ten minutes happens with your coffee, your book or your laptop. Close your eyes or use shields if the light bothers you.

We call it the Kept Session. One half is a session built so you keep it. The other half is terms built so you can judge it at week ten and still get something back: a full refund for 30 days, and half back until day 90.

The mask half

  • About 290 g, flexible and silicone-style. It bends to the face and folds.
  • Press T for 5, 10 or 15 minutes. Set it once.
  • Press M for four modes on one controller: Calm 525 nm, Brighten 590 nm, Rejuvenate 630 to 660 nm, Tighten 630 to 660 nm plus 850 nm. A second goal does not need a second device.
  • The mode names are the controller's own labels for the goal you pick. They are not promises.

The offer half

  • Use it for 30 days. If it isn't for you, send it back used for a full refund, and we pay the return label. From day 31 to day 90, send it back for half the price. Two-year replacement warranty, claimed by a 20-second video.
  • Most people who see something see it between week six and week ten; some never do. Plan on twelve weeks before you judge it.
  • We check in by email at week 2, 6 and 10.
  • Email support@clinaray.com. A person answers within two business days.

What the Kept Session does not do: promise a result. The window is a return policy. The warranty covers defects.

Printed, not promised.

Every spec in the units the threads argue in. The ones we don't have yet, listed as missing.

Irradiance is the number most masks never print. We will not borrow someone else's. Until ours is measured, it stays listed as to come.

What it is, and what it is not for

What it is: a light mask for home, for goals people already name, like the look of fine lines, tone and texture. Goals, not guarantees.

What it is not for, and what to know first:

  • Eyes. The eye window is open, and no shields come in the box. Close your eyes or use shields if the light bothers you.
  • Blue light. There is no blue mode.
  • Deeper skin tones or melasma. Start at five minutes and patch-test first. Stop if any area darkens.
  • Who should not use it. Anyone taking medicines that make skin sensitive to light (isotretinoin and lithium are two), anyone with a history of skin cancer, a light-sensitive condition or an inherited eye disease, and anyone pregnant or breastfeeding. If any of that applies, or you are not sure, talk to your doctor first.

The price, against the band

  • $274.98 once.
  • The $400 to $600 masks sell 630 to 633 nm red plus 830 to 850 nm near-infrared as their core mode. A wavelength is not an output; our irradiance reading is to come.
  • In-office LED runs $25 to $250 a session (Consumer Reports).
  • No "was" price, no countdown, no stock counter.

A thread can't answer it. Twelve weeks can.

Another month of threads cannot tell you what twelve weeks on your own face will. The return terms keep something on your side while you find out: a full refund for 30 days, and half back until day 90. $274.98 once. That is about $0.75 a day for a year, or about what eleven in-office sessions cost at $25.

The offer in one sentence: Get the Clinaray LED Light Therapy Mask, four wavelengths on one controller in a flexible mask of about 290 g that you wear with your eyes open, for $274.98 with free US shipping, backed by a full refund for 30 days on a used mask, half back until day 90 and a two-year replacement warranty claimed by video, plus the Twelve-Week Routine Guide, the Mode Cheat Sheet and check-ins at week 2, 6 and 10, so you judge it on your own face at twelve weeks, not a feed's four. Close your eyes or use shields if the light bothers you.

Included with every mask

  • The Twelve-Week Routine Guide: what to expect week by week, which mode for which goal, the timer by skin tone, the eye guidance, who should not use it, and cleaning.
  • The Mode Cheat Sheet: the four modes and their wavelengths, how M and T work, and the eye guidance, on one page, plus a phone wallpaper.
  • Check-ins by email at week 2, 6 and 10.

About 290 g, flexible, and it folds.

The questions the threads ask.

How does it work?

Put the mask on and use the controller: power to start, M to pick a mode, T to pick 5, 10 or 15 minutes. The LEDs light at that mode's printed wavelength. A common routine in this category is ten minutes, three to five times a week, and the 10 minute setting matches it.

How long until I see something?

Most people who see something see it between week six and week ten; some never do. Plan on twelve weeks before you judge it. That is why the return terms run to day 90: a full refund for 30 days, and half back from day 31 to day 90.

What if it isn't for me, and what happens to a returned mask?

Use it for 30 days. If it isn't for you, send it back used for a full refund, and we pay the return label. From day 31 to day 90, send it back for half the price. The days count from delivery, half of $274.98 is $137.49, and either way the mask comes back on our prepaid label, with no restocking fee and no sealed-box rule. We refund the original payment once the mask arrives back with us. After day 90 there is no refund; the warranty still covers defects. Returned masks are donated, never resold as new. The full terms are in our refund policy.

What if it breaks?

Two-year replacement warranty, claimed by a 20-second video. The two years count from delivery. Email the video and your order number to support@clinaray.com and we ship a replacement; you do not post the broken one back. It covers defects, not results.

What about my eyes?

The eye window is open, so you can read or work during a session. Close your eyes or use shields if the light bothers you. Shields are not in the box, and we have no eye-exposure test report yet, so we claim nothing more than that.

I have deeper skin, or melasma. Can I use it?

Start with the 5 minute timer and patch-test first. Stop if any area darkens. Consumer Reports notes that "The use of LED masks in people of color has not been extensively studied", so if you are unsure, talk to your doctor first.

Who should not use it?

Anyone taking medicines that make skin sensitive to light (isotretinoin and lithium are two), anyone with a history of skin cancer, a light-sensitive condition or an inherited eye disease, and anyone pregnant or breastfeeding. If any of that applies, or you are not sure, talk to your doctor first. The Twelve-Week Routine Guide carries the same list.

What is it for?

A light mask for home use, with four wavelengths, 328 LEDs and a timer, for goals people already name, like the look of fine lines, tone and texture. It is not for any condition.

Why $274.98, when there are the $400 to $600 masks and the $40 Amazon mask?

The $400 to $600 masks sell 630 to 633 nm red plus 830 to 850 nm near-infrared as their core mode, and our Tighten mode is 630 to 660 nm red plus 850 nm near-infrared. A wavelength is not an output; our irradiance reading is to come. Against the $40 Amazon mask, which usually comes with a 30-day return, $274.98 adds half the price back until day 90 and a two-year replacement warranty.

Where do you ship, and how long does it take?

Free tracked shipping to US addresses. Ships in 1 to 3 business days, then arrives in 5 to 8 business days. We ship to the 48 contiguous states and Washington, DC, for now. The details are in our shipping policy.

How do the battery and charging work?

The battery is built in and rechargeable, and a charging cable comes in the box. The controller is wired to the mask. Capacity and how many sessions a charge gives are not confirmed yet, so we do not print a number.

Does it hurt, or get hot?

We have not yet measured heat at the skin over a full session, or confirmed whether it switches off by itself when the timer ends, so we claim neither. Start at five minutes. Take it off if it ever feels hot, sore or uncomfortable.
